Organizing Team

The Agile2012 conference is created by a production team of highly respected Agile experts and practitioners to present a program that spans the whole spectrum of agile practice.

The Agile conference series is a organized as a program of the Agile Alliance, a non-profit organization dedicated to uncovering better ways of developing software inspired by the values and principles of the Manifesto for Agile Software Development. Mitch Lacey

Conference Chair

Mitch helps teams and companies realize gains in efficiency by adopting agile principles and practices such as Scrum and Extreme Programming.
Mitch is a self-described “tech nerd” who started his technology career in 1991 at Accolade Software, a computer gaming company. After working as a software test engineer, a test manager, a developer and a variety of other jobs in between, he settled on his true calling, project and program management. He began developing agile skills at Microsoft Corporation, where his team successfully released core enterprise services for Windows Live.Today, with more than 16 years of experience under his belt, Mitch works as an agile trainer and coach and continues to develop his craft by experimenting and practicing with project teams at many different organizations. Mitch is a Certified Scrum Trainer (CST) and a PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) and the author of The Scrum Field Guide, published by Addison Wesley.

 

Peter Provost

Technical Program Chair

 Peter Provost is a Senior Program Manager for Microsoft Visual Studio where he is currently focused on making Visual Studio the supreme environment for agile developers. In Visual Studio 2010, Peter helped drive the extensibility features of the Architecture and Design tools. Prior to that, Peter managed the patterns & practices development team at Microsoft where they created Guides, Software Factories and Application Blocks like Enterprise Library and the Composite User Interface Application Block. Before joining Microsoft, he was a consultant in the Rocky Mountain region focusing on Microsoft technologies and agile software development techniques. He has spoken at a number of conferences and user groups and has written articles on agile development, ASP.NET, Web services and other topics.

Michele Sliger

Michele Sliger has worked in software development for over 20 years, and has been embracing change with agile methodologies for the last ten of those years. Co-author of the book The Software Project Manager’s Bridge to Agility and a self-described “bridge builder,” her passion lies in helping those in traditional software development environments cross the bridge to agility. Sliger is the owner of Sliger Consulting Inc., where she consults to businesses ranging from small start-ups to Fortune 500 companies, helping teams with their agile adoption and helping organizations prepare for the changes that agile adoption brings. Michele is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP®) a Certified Scrum Trainer (CST), has an undergraduate MIS degree and an MBA.

 

Pete Behrens

Pete Behrens is the Founder and President of Trail Ridge Consulting, a firm specializing in leadership and organizational agility through enterprise-wide agile transitions and adoption. His focus is in the organizational and cultural agility needed to transform an organization and the leadership agility required to drive it. Through this work, he has guided the transformations of Salesforce.com, GE Healthcare IT, Staples, JDA Software and others. Pete has been in the agile community since 2001 and has been involved in every agile conference since 2005 as a participant, presenter, reviewer and stage co-producer. Pete is active in the Scrum Alliance as a Certified Trainer (CST) and Coach (CSC). In 2007, Pete formed the Certified Scrum Coach (CSC) Program and continues to lead it today with over 50 members strong.
